The ATLAS-L4 consortium takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and, as a public body, is subject to statutory data protection regulations. For this reason, we have taken measures to ensure that the data protection regulations are observed by us as well as by our external service providers and partners.

 

During the further development of our website and the technologies used, changes to this data protection declaration may also become necessary. We therefore recommend that you re-read the privacy policy from time to time.

 

The following declaration gives you an overview of how the ATLAS-L4 consortium guarantees the protection of your data and what type of data is collected for what purpose. With this information, we also fulfil our duty to provide information in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation when collecting personal data.

 Personal Information

At some points on the website, you will be asked to provide personal information. We store and use the transmitted (personal) data exclusively for the purpose for which they were provided. It will not be passed on to third parties. In addition, you will be explicitly asked to agree to the data storage and transfer. Automatically saved log data will be deleted after a limited period of time.

 

Data processing on this website
Every time you visit a website, legally required data is collected and exchanged. The ATLAS-L4 consortium automatically collects and stores data that your browser transmits to our server. These are:

  •     Type and version of your internet browser
  •     Operating system used
  •     the called page
  •     the previously visited page (referrer URL)
  •     Time of the server request.

The ATLAS-L4 ​consortium evaluates data solely for statistical purposes in order to measure the demand for the web offers. The ATLAS-L4 ​consortium has no way of assigning this data to a specific person. This data is not merged with other data sources. The IP numbers are recorded for the duration of the visit to answer the queries and are not saved beyond the end of the visit. Data that was logged when accessing the website will only be transmitted to third parties if we are legally obliged to do so or if disclosure is required in the event of attacks on the ATLAS-L4 consortium's internet infrastructure for legal or criminal prosecution. It will not be passed on in other cases.

 Cookies

So-​called session cookies are used. Session cookies are small pieces of information that a provider stores in the working memory of the visitor's computer. A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-​called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. A cookie also contains information about its origin and the storage period. These cookies cannot save any other data.

 

Dealing with cookies
Cookies can be controlled with all internet browsers. Most browsers are set up to accept all cookies without asking the user. If you want to use the full functionality of the website, you should set your browser so that session cookies are accepted. If you reject all cookies, the login function cannot be used and related content cannot be maintained.

 Data Security

When you visit our website, we use the common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in conjunction with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. You can see whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed lock symbol in your browser.
We also use suitable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

 Webtracking

The website of the ATLAS-L4 consortium uses Matomo, an open source software for the statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo also uses so-called cookies, which are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is stored on the web servers of FamilienForschung im Statistischen Landesamt Baden-Württemberg. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Emails to the ATLAS-L4 ​consortium
If you send us an email, this email and your email address will only be used for correspondence with you. In the case of applications and votes, the personal data provided will only be saved for the processing of the application process.

You can use any internet browser to display when cookies are set and what they contain. The virtual data protection office of the federal and state data protection officers in Germany offers detailed information.

 

Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation

  • If your personal data is processed, you have the right to obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
  • If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • If the legal requirements are met, you can request the erasure or restriction of processing and object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR).
  • If you have consented to the data processing or a contract for data processing exists and the data processing is carried out using automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
  • If you make use of your above-mentioned rights, the public authority will check whether the legal requirements for this are met.
